I have a heat pump water heater. It is a Bradford White 50 gallon heat pump water heater model BWRE2H50S10 installed in Jan 2023. Works great. We have not had any problems. It is in the basement. It cost about $3500 (though I’m expecting a tax credit to cover part of it).
I would do it again. VT Energy Contracting installed it. Took less than a day and no complaints/problems. If your electrical panel is already maxed out, that would add to the complexity and cost, but otherwise it is quite straightforward.
