Energy Navigators provide consultations for free and remain available as a continual resource throughout each step of the process for making your home more energy efficient. We help you understand the equipment you have, understand the options available for your home, as well as what resources exist to help you accomplish it. We can help you take action on short term fixes and make a plan for longer term actions to increase your comfort, lower your energy bills and when feasible, lower your fossil fuel usage. It is our goal to support you in accomplishing your vision for your home.
What to Expect from a Consultation with an Energy Navigator
After you register for a consultation, one of our navigators will be in touch to schedule a time that works to meet you at your home.
During our visit (a navigation), we talk with you about the home and how you use it, about your goals, etc. We then walk through the home with you, looking at the equipment (furnace, water heater, electrical panel, etc) We can answer questions that you may have about these items and get a sense of what is possible and how the home functions as a system. We also look at things like insulation, windows, outside, etc. We may ask to take pictures, etc. We want to have a full idea of how best to support you and our goals!
Once we have walked through the home and had a discussion with you, we will leave and get started on your Initial Report. That generally takes about 2-3 weeks to be fully completed and shared. All information is private and confidential and is only be shared with you.
Your navigator will check in regularly for the first few months following your visit and afterwards, we will continue to be available to answer any questions and support through any actions.
